So you wanna make an indie film....(Blog Home) May 7, 2010 Last weekend "Drive-in Horrorshow" was screened at the Indy Horror Film Festival at the beautiful Egyptian Theatre in Dekalb, IL. We were nominated for Best Feature - we didn't win, but being nominated was an honor in itself.
The festival was a weekend marathon of thirty features and short films. A paranormal presentation and midnight haunted tour of the theatre added a unique creepy vibe. Scary stuff. One highlight of the Festival was "Kiss the Abyss", a tale of doing all you can for those you love...after they have died. Great make-up and strong acting brought this tale of tragic reanimation to life (so to speak). Not to mention a few nasty, vicious zombieladies. How can you not love this film? More at their website.
A few old favorites of ours played, too. The Landord (see our Dark Carnival blog), is a wacky and clever story about a pair of landlords that feed on their tenants. Lots of people move in, but no one ever moves out. This film was even funnier on the second viewing. More at their website.
Another great film we'd seen before was Survivors (see our Austin F.F. blog) a tragic zombie/apocalyptic/end of the world film with an ending that must be seen. More at their website. We'd seen Seance at Dark Carnival (see our Dark Carnival blog), and it's power and beauty knocked us out of our seats a second time. This film is a great import from the Czech republic - a simple, scary short film with a very dark mood. The camerawork and sound are exquisite. More at their website. See you soon... ![]() What they are saying about the Drive-In Horrorshow.... "10 out of 10" "Drive-In Horrorshow delivers a visual feast of blood splatter
